European Directories have licensed the Akesios Platform and engaged with Akesios to project manage the rollout of a new business funded click-to-call product with Skype: http://bit.ly/ewN18.

The Akesios Platform handles the end-to-end fulfilment of European Directories’ customers on the Skype program after order processing: holding and processing the business rules, validating the orders, managing the delivery of the calls and providing multi-level reporting.

Akesios are responsible for the productisation, operationalisation and fulfilment of the Skype product across all the 8 yellow pages directory publishers that make up the European Directories' operating companies.

European Directories owns and operates runs eight local directory businesses, some of which are market leaders in their respective countries. Like many Directory companies worldwide, the company recognises the threat from search engines like Google, and our role is to turn this into a nine figure revenue opportunity.

Akesios has been working with European Directories for nearly two years to define and implement a significant business stream supplying Search Engine Marketing services to its current customer base and to new target audiences. As well as defining the strategy, the real value we provide is helping to deliver and benefit from it by defining how products are processed within existing systems, creating technical integration between the operating company and SEM platforms, sales force training, and much more.

It is well documented that Microsoft is investing heavily in Search, and Akesios are key partners in their development of their Local Search property, Live Search Maps. We work closely with Microsoft’s teams in the UK and Ireland to enhance the service from both a usability and monetisation standpoint. Our role encompasses search log data analysis to sourcing data partners to enhance the content – to defining a monetisation strategy.

Search and Local Search has been growing year on year at an incredible pace from both a usage and revenue perspective. To outpace this growth, many companies are turning to acquisitions – particularly in less mature markets. Akesios has provided operational due diligence on companies operating in the Search space in the Netherlands, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.

Akesios has recently completed a restructuring of an SEM agency with an eight figure turnover, but suffering seven figure pre-tax losses. The work involved a cost cutting programme, redefining target markets, creating a new telesales channel, a new product range and restructuring back office services to realign service levels and support functions. The business will break even and become profitable in 2009.

Akesios worked with Austrian internet agency Binder Trittenwein to develop and launch a website creation product to ClearSense customers in The Netherlands. The platform enables the user to create their own website and pick and mix from a number of add-on features. The Customer Management System enables the user to update their content in real time. Following initial agreement the product was specified, developed, sales-trained and launched within four weeks.
